Laws and Guidance

The Idaho Department of Labor administers a variety of state and federal programs. The authority to administer and the way the programs are administered, comes from state and federal statute, rule, Administrative Order and policy. The governance documentation for each program administered by the department can be found below. Agency policy statements and guidance documents shall not have the force and effect of law pursuant to section 67-5207A, Idaho Code.

Unemployment Insurance

Unemployment insurance is assistance to individuals who have lost their job through no fault of their own and meet eligibility requirements. It is a tax paid by employers.

Employment Services

A federally funded program to connect job seekers to employers or employment opportunities.

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)

A federally funded program designed to help job seekers access employment, education, training, and support services to succeed in the labor market, while also helping employers find skilled workers.
